Kraken is an ongoing and constantly developing project. The initial concept was to create a journal documenting the final months of the life of George Gibbs, a first mate aboard a merchant vessel in a fictional world set in the early 17th century. The narrative follows Gibbs and his slow decline into fear and panic as he becomes sure that his ship is being followed port to port by the legendary Kraken. The story comes to an abrupt end as his fears are proven to be true.

Every component of the Kraken Chest is completely individual, designed from scratch and built by hand. This project is a unique and complete handmade experience, fun to explore with an interesting world full of lore. My future plans for this project will see hidden codes, invisible ink, secret compartments and more added.
